About Trinity
Trinity Bioactives Ltd is a private company. Trinity provides a wide range of bioassays and models to assist natural product health companies and drug developers. We work with some partners to develop new products on a shared basis.
Trinity has 8 staff - 3 PhDs and all the remainder with appropriate University qualifications. The key staff have worked in biotechnology developments for 30 years or more. We have experience with products, preparations, molecules and drug candidates from a diversity of animal, botanical, marine, fungal, bacterial, algal and synthetic sources. We are very keen to work interactively with you to understand your needs and develop a plan of approach. Many of the products we have helped develop are now in the market or clinical trials.
Our client base is predominantly in the Western Pacific from South Korea to New Zealand. We have clients in the US and Europe.
We have two laboratories - a biology lab for our in vitro activities and a small animal lab for the in vivo activities.
Our in vitro lab is organized with a broad set of equipment which supports an extensive range of tasks. We also have a radioactivity lab. We have a good set up to develop and modify assays and models to meet specific and novel needs. We can undertake most projects quickly.
Our in vivo lab is fully equipped and secure. We have considerable experience in the use of animal models and can access a full range of lab animals. Recent studies include; - acute inflammation, arthritis, metabolic syndrome, wound healing, inflammatory bowel disease, and angiogenesis. We have experience and the capacity to conduct a large scale trial to meet regulatory requirements. We treat all animals with care and respect. All our animal models are ethically approved by the University of Otago, Wellington Animal Ethics Committee.

Trinity’s research studies are performed according to GLP principles.
We are located in Wellington, New Zealand in the midst of a medical and health complex with convenient access to clinical practitioners and other research resources.
